Entertainment & AV Systems Refit
Crestron Integration
The M/Y GENESIA, a 40-meter yacht built in 1987 by Feadship, underwent a major refit completed in spring 2022.
As part of a complete interior redesign, ITE Yachting was selected to modernize the onboard audio visual and control systems, ensuring compliance with modern charter expectations.
The objective of this project was to deliver a fully modern, scalable and user-friendly AV environment, while simplifying system architecture and ensuring long-term maintainability.
Key priorities included system scalability, intuitive user interfaces, simplified technical design and ease of maintenance.
Engineering & System Architecture
Leveraging our deep understanding of yachting environments, we developed a custom hybrid AV and network architecture, combining IP and HDMI technologies.
This innovative approach allowed optimal management of both network and AV signals, ensuring high performance without compromising system reliability.
Detailed schematics and cabling plans were produced by our engineering department to support seamless integration across all onboard areas.
Audio Visual & Guest Experience
The new system was designed to provide a simple and intuitive user experience for up to 12 guests onboard.
From dedicated iPads, guests can instantly access and control all available media sources within their cabins.
• Apple TV and Chromecast integration
• Streaming from personal devices
• Zappiti media center (movies & music libraries)
• Satellite TV (Sky, Canal+)
• Individual audio control per cabin
This ensures a seamless and premium entertainment experience aligned with charter standards.
Interactive Guest-to-Crew Communication
A dedicated interactive Call Service system was developed to enhance onboard service and responsiveness.
Guests can request assistance directly from their cabin or any onboard area via their iPad, either by sending a quick service request or by using the integrated messaging interface.
Crew members receive instant notifications via onboard pagers, allowing them to respond immediately from anywhere on the yacht.
Through their dedicated iPad interface, crew can identify the requesting guest, review the request and communicate directly, ensuring a smooth, discreet and highly responsive service experience.
Broadcast & Multi-Zone Distribution
The system also enables advanced multi-zone content distribution, allowing crew to broadcast external sources across selected areas of the yacht.
For example, live events can be streamed simultaneously across multiple decks and lounges upon guest request.
This functionality is powered by Crestron NVX technology (AV over IP), enabling flexible signal routing without impacting network performance.
Interior lounges and exterior decks were equipped with high-end Bowers & Wilkins audio systems, ensuring exceptional sound quality throughout the yacht.

These features provide a premium entertainment experience across all living spaces.
Crew Tools & System Monitoring
To support daily operations, advanced tools were developed for the crew.
From their iPads, crew members can:
• Access and control any cabin system
• Assist guests remotely
• Monitor system status in real time
• Identify faults and perform initial diagnostics
The system also enables the captain to access navigation and technical data (radar, ECDIS, cameras) directly from his cabin display via Crestron NVX integration.
Results & Technologies
This refit resulted in a fully modern, scalable and high-performance AV environment, designed to meet the expectations of both charter guests and crew.
The combination of intuitive interfaces, advanced system architecture and integrated communication tools significantly enhances onboard experience and operational efficiency.
