Automation & Systems Diagnostics – Refit Support - La Ciotat Shipyards

The crew of M/Y EXUMA entrusted ITE Yachting with the diagnosis and restoration of several onboard technical systems.

This intervention took place during a major refit of this 164 ft Perini Navi yacht at La Ciotat Shipyards, where we provided our expertise in automation, audio visual systems and complex system integration.

Project Overview

The objective of this project was to identify and resolve multiple technical issues affecting onboard systems, while improving reliability and operational performance.

Working within a complex and heterogeneous environment, we carried out detailed diagnostics and targeted interventions across several critical systems.

Automation & System Diagnostics

We performed in-depth diagnostics on the yacht’s automation systems to identify faults and optimize system behavior.

• Analysis of alarm signals from the centralized supervision system
• Diagnosis of faults linked to a Schneider PLC (Premium TSX)
• Identification of defective equipment affecting system stability
• Optimization of PLC programming to eliminate false alarms

This process led to the identification of a faulty DEIF Modbus gateway connected to the generators, which required replacement.

Audio Visual & Control Systems

We also carried out several interventions on the yacht’s AV and control infrastructure.

• Control of five Furuno displays on the bridge via a Crestron CP4 processor
• Integration with an ATEN video matrix for signal distribution
• Restoration of a Kaleidescape multiroom media environment following HD player replacement

These improvements restored full functionality and ensured a reliable and user-friendly AV experience onboard.

System Optimization & Mechanical Interface

Additional improvements were made to enhance the performance of onboard mechanical systems.

• Optimization of Bosch Rexroth stabilizer control commands

This intervention contributed to improved operational efficiency and system responsiveness.
